I've Heard That Money Is a Status Symbol for Some People - Can I Be Wealthy and Ordinary?

I attended a private school for part of my school life and remember that some of the children that attended came from very wealthy families. Whilst that was never an issue for me, I did notice after a while that some of the wealthier children started to talk about the less wealthy people as being 'not as good as them.' My primary point here is that this is a fallacy. All people start off being good and equal as people, irrespective of the size of their respective bank balances. It is much more about how we behave with or without the money that matters. Putting it another way, the money is in itself, a static product, without any energy. It is simply a value based piece of paper- a form of exchange value.

Taking this a step further, we need to look at the value that we as people are able to offer. Even if we are not wealthy by common recognition, we are all individuals with unlimited potential. Yes, I said unlimited. Again, science teaches us that most of us are using around ten percent or less of our mental capacity. I really feel that we need to concentrate on this figure increasing and also recognise that we have much to offer the world. When we establish our talents and abilities, we can become incredibly powerful as people. This in turn translates into monetary values when it comes to exchange for service and value.

I realize that for some people, no matter what is said here or elsewhere, the misconception that a person is only as good as their bank balance will remain. For what it is worth, please recognize this is an unreliable if not totally incorrect manner to rate people's value. For the more open minded readers out there, please note that our potential is unlimited, I repeat this as it is such an important point. By persevering and being focused on moving forward, even if only a little each day, we are able to remind ourselves that we are progressing. A great parallel might be the building of a railway line.

Some countries have mind blowing lengths of railway tracks and each one has to be painstakingly laid. However, for a completed line, train travellers may travel for several days and not complete a full journey. Hence,my point is that even if a small amount is done each day, it ultimately will add up to something more significant.

Now to get back to the issue of money and value, I personally know some people who are incredibly wealthy by today's standards, but who are very relaxed about it. In fact, a story I think of regularly is when the owner of the company I worked for at one time went to the bank in his Rolls Royce. I saw him pull up, and get out of his car. He looked like he hadn't changed his clothes for a week, wearing old shorts, a shirt that looked unclean and a day or two of facial hair growth. Essentially, if I did not know the man and had not seen him near his car, I could have been forgiven for thinking that he was down and out.

Let me please say that as a rule, I encourage people to look their best, and take pride in their image, but my point is that you can never judge a person or book by their cover. It is absolutely possible to be very wealthy and still be approachable and not stuffy as a person. I really do encourage you to concentrate on being a decent person. Often, being less obvious can help more to be attracted to you.
