Hypnosis for Weight Loss: Do You Recognize the 5 Warning Signs of Being on the Wrong Diet?
Before turning to hypnosis for weight loss, I tried just about every other sort of diet out there. It so happened that they were wrong for me. Even the ones that actually got me results weren't something I was willing to sustain over the long haul.
I noticed that many of the failed diets I tried shared some common qualities. As a result, I've developed these five questions to help you recognize if you might be on the wrong diet:
- Is it extreme?
- Does it promise quick results?
- Do you feel hungry?
- Is it expensive?
- Can you keep it up for the rest of your life?
Is it extreme?
If your diet is extreme and eliminates entire food groups (no meat, no grains, no chocolate, etc.), it's probably not sustainable over time and if you do stick with it for the long haul, it's probably going to unbalance you like crazy.
Once I tried hypnosis for weight loss, I found that the things I ate were balanced - I simply ate less and exercised more - the key elements I needed to lose weight and become fit.
Does it promise quick results?
Diets that promise you'll shed a pound a day or more can certainly get you some quick results, especially in the beginning, but they're very difficult to maintain, especially if you've historically had a problem with eating too much.
Hypnosis for weight loss has been a patient road for me with an average of 2 - 3 pounds lost per week. I feel healthy and happy.
Do you feel hungry?
Right now, are you hungry? If you are, you need to eat. If your diet won't let you eat when you feel hungry, it won't last. Hunger is a basic human survival instinct. It's key to sustaining life. Like sleep. You can only go so long without enough sleep. Then you collapse.
When I started hypnosis for weight loss, my hunger actually became a signal for me. When I felt hungry, I needed to go eat something - hopefully something healthy. In fact, right when I started writing this, I felt hungry, so I went and ate a cheese stick. It took care of the hungry feeling and it'll get me down the road to the next meal or healthy snack.
Is it expensive?
Eating healthy can be expensive. If you're like me, you'd rather not have to take out a loan in order to be able to eat all the right foods. If your diet is breaking your budget, there's a good chance it won't last.
What worked for me was using hypnosis for weight loss to simply start eating less and exercising more. I eat pretty much the same things as before, just less. I actually save money this way - 1 donut is cheaper than 4 when I stop at the gas station in the morning.
Can you keep it up for the rest of your life?
Aside from hypnosis for weight loss, the most successful experience I had with dieting was using a low-fat diet that I stayed on for about 6 months. I lost a ton of weight and actually ended up within a few pounds of my target.
The problem was, however, that it was too difficult for me to maintain while still being a participating member of my family. Making separate meals for the rest of my life was just too much to juggle. My family was supportive, but I could tell it was difficult for them to maintain.
Of course, my family won, I stopped the diet and put on 57.5 pounds over the next year and a half.
Then, I jumped on the hypnosis for weight loss wagon and I eat the same things as the rest of my family, just in smaller amounts than before. That is the most amazing part for me. That I can sit down with my family and a large pizza and be full. Before, I wanted a large all to myself - and I'd usually end up eating a good portion of whatever was left over from their meal.
