Turn Hair Washing For Kid's Into Fun!
When it comes to bath time it can become a battle getting your child in the bath. There are many reasons why children don't like bath time from getting wet, afraid of the water or knowing that they might be getting their hair washed.
This is why bath time should be made fun and exciting so that when you say bath time they will come running in excitement. There are lots of ways to make bath time a fun time here are a few idea's to try.
Putting bubble bath is a great idea they will love to see the bath fill up with bubbles to play with. You will have to be careful though as some brands can cause skin irritations to some children especially if they have sensitive skin.
Add a few drops of food colouring to the bath water and watch your child' face they will be amazed to see the water change colour. You could try different colours at each bath time, let your child choose the colour, it's also a good way for children to learn about colours.
There are a lot of different toys you can purchase for the bath, kids love playing with toys so why not add they to the bath. Kids love floating ducks and boats and will love making up games with them.
Kids love to sing, why not sing together your child's favourite nursery rhymes. There are so many ways to entertain your child when it comes to bath time. Keep any empty bottles of shampoo, kids will love to fill them up.
Don't forget bath time for a child should be fun, the only problem you may have is getting them out!
Washing your child's hair can be a distressing time for you and your child, something which you can dread doing. Children hate water and shampoo getting on their face and eyes. It can end up a fighting battle between you and your child.
You will either need a jug or a shower head. Leaning the head back and bring the water to the head. Using a shower head is better so you don't have to keep filling up with jug and checking the temperature of the water. Washing your child hair is often easier when they are already in the bath. Turn it into fun time and make a game out of it. Let your child help pour the water on their hair and even rub in the shampoo. The more control you give you child when helping you the easier the process will be. They will enjoy helping and it will ease the tension hair washing can bring.
When applying shampoo don't put too much on, a small amount is fine. Choose a shampoo especially for children they will love them smell of them and the bottles usually come in different colours and designs. These type of shampoo's are friendly to their eyes and will not sting as much if normal shampoo gets in the eyes. Baby shampoo is good as it is a thinner shampoo making it easier to rinse out.
If your child does get shampoo in their eyes when washing their hair they will probably start screaming and crying. Calmly wipe the shampoo away with a wet towel or face cloth and they dry off reassuring them that it's okay.
Even though long hair look great, keeping it short is more practical when it comes to washing time. It will take longer to wash if your child's hair is long and combing will be more difficult. Shorter hair will also need less washing than longer hair. Catching head lice is going to be common if your child has long hair, make sure the hair is tied back as catching head lice is not a pleasant experience for a child to go through.
