Comparison of Pepper Spray and Personal Alarms for Seniors

If you are a senior citizen as I am, what comes to mind when you think of a Self Defense product? Maybe you haven't thought about it. Personal Alarms:

• Accessibility: There are several models that can be carried on your key chain or attached to your belt or purse. So when you are walking from the car to the store, you can be assured it's accessible and easy to use. And it's something that you will never forget because it's on your key chain.
• Safety: A personal alarm is safe to use, but highly effective. I accidentally activated mine in a grocery store and was amazed at how quickly people responded to the noise. That convinced me that I had a good safety product. Just a touch of a button will activate it.
• Alarm: When activated, it emits a very high db sound that will send your assailant running. That's the last thing he/she wants is to have people know what they are doing. I'm deaf in one ear, and believe me, I can even hear it.
• Affordable: Like Pepper Spray, Personal Alarms are very affordable. They start at $10.00, so price should not even be a factor.

As seniors, we are more vulnerable because of failing eyesight, diminished hearing and, let's face it, we're not as strong as we once were. These are two options that are available that are both effective, non lethal and safe to use. Of course, we always have the option of hoping we won't be the victim of an assault. But life is unpredictable, so why take the chance?
