Make This Mistake With Your Steam Shower Cabin And You Will Regret It
You may think that installing a steam shower cabin is fairly easy. You would be right up to a point, but what happens if you get it wrong? What happens if you order your steam shower cabin and it doesn't fit? Yes, that's the biggest mistake people make when deciding on which steam cabin is right for them.
You would assume that it is easy to measure the extent of your bathroom and then purchase the steam shower cabin that matches those measurements. Well, you would be wrong! If you have a 1200mm x 1200mm corner in your bathroom into which you want to fit a steam shower you will have to take into account the plumbing and electrics. These things take up a minimum of 300mm. That's a lot of space, especially if you haven't got it to give.
The electrical and plumbing connections at the back as well as the top of a steam shower cabin are very important. Without the space to move about, you are just not going to get the jobs done. Your plumber may be small, but is he small enough to fit into a really tiny space that is less than 300mm? The answer is a resounding, NO!
So getting back to our example above. If you have a space of 1200mm X 1200mm then you will need to purchase a 900mm X 900mm unit. The unit can be moved around before finalising its placement. That means your plumber can still get to all the spots he needs to.
You will also want to ensure that the height is sufficient for the electrical and plumbing that is placed on the roof area. You can possibly get away with 200mm clearance, but to be on the safe side you will want to check with your supplier before making a final decision.
The most popular steam cabin shower is the whirlpool tub. If you have no major budget problems then this is the one for you. If you really want to go the whole hog, then get the model with the full specification multi-jet system. It is very important with this type of steam cabin shower that you get your measurements right. The whirlpool steam shower cabins are usually quite a bit longer than normal so you want to ensure that you have a good 2000mm clearance.
So there is the low-down on what you should avoid when ordering your steam shower cabin. What ever you do, don't get the measurement s wrong. In fact, what I've found works, is to take the measurements and then start from scratch and do tem all over again. That way, if you've made a mistake then you will quickly see it and make adjustments. You really want to avoid buying a steam shower cabin that is too big for the available space.
This is not usually a problem for the normal steam shower cabins but can become a huge headache if you decide to go for the whirlpool tub option. These are quite a bit longer and you will need adequate space to allow for the extra length.
