Because it can't just work for one of you -- and if it's not working for one of you, then it's not going to work for either of you long-term... and I don't think we can afford to underestimate the problems with hotwifing some couples do run into.
Remember while it's perhaps not just all about sex, your man is the 'primary'. In other words, no matter how tough and resilient a man is, his wife having sex with one or more other men is going to have an effect on him, and sometimes he'll want or need reassurance. Some women get angry and bitchy at this point, and it doesn't help. Remember he's doing a big thing for you, so it won't hurt to be considerate.
He must be able to say 'no'. For most men, the thought of having no control of this is unbearable. For his peace of mind and the long-term happiness of you both, it's important he feels if he asks you to stop the lifestyle, he can -- and you'll do as he asks (imagine if it was the other way round how you'd feel if he wouldn't stop sleeping with other women). You could argue with some justification it's his own fault for starting you off down the hotwiving path, but that's by-the-by. The fact is, if he's hurting and you ignore that, your marriage will suffer.
Don't lie or keep things to yourself. Often part of the 'deal', if you like, is the woman gets to sleep with other men, and her man gets to hear all the details or even watch. But sometimes the woman wants to have her cake and eat it -- she'll clam up when he asks about it. Worse yet is lying and 'hotwifing' behind his back (and that's really crossing the line into infidelity, then). Even though you might feel embarrassed at first talking about your sexual escapades with your lovers, you can't have it all your own way. It's only fair your man gets something out of this, too.
