Tips for Outsourcing Your SEO to a Qualified Company
When you start examining the process of SEO you will probably find yourself looking to find as much information as possible with which to learn as much about it as possible. This will involve searching the Internet, reading books and scouring through SEO Expert's blogs and articles trying to find that one golden nugget of information that will propel you from SEO wannabe to utter genius in the art of the search engine.
However eventually you discover that there's not actually much to it at all. Even though you are lured into buying tons of material that promises to boost your rankings and make you untold riches in the hope of paying off the mortgage, you eventually come to the conclusion that there are no shortcuts.
This is indeed the truth - there is no easy way to boost your rankings, like there is no easy way to extract coal, you just need a lot of hard work and perseverance and eventually you'll make it - if you don't give up in the meantime.
So this is about the time when the average company, realising that their efforts are best spent actually doing the job they're good at, look to outsource and find someone else or indeed another company to do the work for them. But how to choose?
There are so many companies around now promising so many things to help you boost your rankings that you have to wonder if there should be some sort of regulation, but because there isn't, here are a few tips that will help you to make the right choices.
Recommendation
Try to find a company that is recommended to you by another that has had the same work done for them. By far the best way to choose a company is to base it on the experience of others as they will have hopefully had a good experience. You'd expect that they would only recommend a company that helped, not one that has done nothing to increase their rankings.
Size
The size of the company may have a bearing on how professional they are. Any company that has a number of staff working on their SEO must have built up a client base that enables them to operate at such a size. If they have lots of customers then surely they do a good job? Well maybe not - if they're too big then they may well not have the time to give over to your account, so be careful.
Guarantees
Any company that guarantees any particular search position is to be wary of. Google is a private company and they do not allow their secrets to be known, therefore it is not possible for any company to give a guarantee as surely they don't know how their site will perform?
Price
Stay clear of companies who have rock-bottom prices. If they're cheap then they can only be taking shortcuts or hiring cheap staff - don't be tempted.
Lock-in terms
Personally I would stay away from a company that wants to lock you in for 12 months. They should be able to make a difference to your ranking within 3-5 months and if they can't, then move on.
Hopefully there are enough tips there to enable you to make an informed decision on the company to help you in your SEO endeavours.
