How To Make Scented Candles At Home In Simple Steps

The first thing that you need to know is that scented oils are ideal for making scented candles however if you do not have any of these oils and still want to make a candle right now then you can always take a look in your kitchen cupboard for some food extracts such as vanilla or lemon. These will work just as well.

When you use scented oils you may want to make a fragrance that is unique and beautiful. The way that you do this is simply by adding different scents together, take your time though and only use a little at a time, if you have a small glass jar then this is great. Simply put a little of all of the oils that you want to mix on to a cotton swab. Place the cotton swab in to the glass jar and seal it up tight. Wait about 5 minutes and then smell the inside of the jar, how doe4s it smell? Is one scent more powerful than the others? Keep working at it and you should have a unique scent in no time at all.

When learning how to make scented candles it is always best to work with a flat and level surface. Cover the area in newspapers in order to protect it. Now take a double boiler, fill the bottom pot with water, take the top pot and cut small chunks of wax in to it. When this is done simply place the double boiler on to the stove top and bring the water to a boil. Keep on stirring the wax until it melts all the way. When the wax is melted then it is the perfect time to add the scents.

Make sure that when you add the scented oils that you only add a little at a time so that you avoid adding to much. Mix the scents in to the wax well. Now get the mold ready by stringing the wick through the wick tab and placing the wick tab in to the mold. Pour the melted wax in to the mold, be careful as the wax is hot, and then put the mold to the side to cool for 24 hours. When the wax is cool and dry then remove it from the mold, trim the wick, and you are done! You just learned how to make scented candles!
